EPFL Pavilions is closing definetly

EPFL Pavilions is closing on the 29th of June 2025

The space for dialogue between the arts, sciences and society, which opened in 2016, is suspending its activities due to the construction work that will occupy the Esplanade and the Coupole for the next four years. Pavilions A and B will be used for student work from time to time, before being transformed into a Visitor Centre by 2028.

Active since 2016 under the name ArtLab, which became EPFL Pavilions in 2020, this space dedicated to the dialogue between art, science and society will have produced and presented dozens of exhibitions and events, reaching an ever-growing and varied audience that extends far beyond the confines of the campus.

Its closure is justified by the construction work on the Double Deck project, a new teaching centre due to start in summer 2025, which will have a major impact on the centre of the campus. During the four years of works, the two exhibition pavilions A and B will no longer be able to offer the conditions that are conducive to the activities currently taking place there.

The EPFL Pavilions team would like to thank its partners, supporters, service providers, collaborators and the many people who have contributed in one way or another to its success. It would also like to thank the visitors for their loyalty, the students, and the artists and researchers from various backgrounds who have given substance to the exhibitions and events.

The last two exhibitions can be seen until 29 June: Musica ex Machina: Machines Thinking Musically in Pavilion B and HALOS in Pavilion A, presented by the CDH AiR Program Enter the Hyper-Scientific.

The EPFL Pavilions exhibitions continue to travel the world. While Cosmos Archaeology continues its Chinese tour in Beijing after stops in Shanghai and Guangzhou, Lighten Up! will soon be taking up residence at the MIT Museum in Boston after an initial stop in Winterthur, which was completed in May 2025.

Thank you and Good bye!
